    The word "should" is not the same as the word "will".

    I'm not sure why you think that. i686 is the Pentium Pro architecture, which just included MMX, not even the original SSE. And isn't the whole point of this news that Fedora used to install a 586 kernel everywhere before, and it will now be changed to a 686 one?

    Looks like a nice boring update. Glad they finally decided to keep it sane. Have to test this some.

    meh, redhat can make whatever changes they want but it will never be as powerful as slackware or gentoo.
