May be the next game from LGP to be ported.
But the sales of X3 : Reunion were low and then, LGP could call off the port

Do I understand that LGP will not port X3, or are they waiting for the X3 sales to reach a certain threshold?

... I hate running games using Wine, but if LGP given up on a future X3:TC port, I might as well buy the Windows version and try my luck with Wine.

Were the sales of X3 lower than they expected? All I know is the game is without a doubt the best Linux port game I've played. I hope they made enough sales to justify porting the expansion as well.

So, two months later, more than one year after X3 GA, and nothing new.
I don't mind waiting, but the lack of information is not confidence inspiring.

Time to bail ship and use Wine?
