PS: I feel sorry for being so ignorant but the reason I installed ubuntu becuase is just because it is supposed to be easy (and because there is no version of "Kile" for windows).

Well you could install karmic and then try the script when the driver is out and never use any U automatic. I guess something failed with the kernel module.

lsmod|grep fglrx

if it is not there:

dkms status

and if it is compiled check

dmesg

If you would like KDE 3.5 then you could try Kanotix too however

you certainly do need a pci express card and you need one that will not hit the power to hard... slayer is offering you a good option.. what else do you use your system for??
