    installed processor, working fine ( touch wood). i recomend the upgrade on the compac presario sr1710nx. bios accepted chip with no problems.

    Default New CPU Fan Required for X2 Upgrade?

    Did you upgrade the CPU fan?

    I'm getting an AMD X2 4600+ Toledo OEM CPU and I don't know if I'll need to replace the fan. The OEM CPU doesn't come with an AMD fan like retail units do.

    The stock sr1710nx fan is made by Asus.
