Christmas in my family is basicly sitting down and eating all day, moaning about other people.

And while I personally don't celebrate christmas due to religious reasons or whatever, but because it's common here in Germany, not everyone celebrates it all so I better wish you guys to enjoy your holidays. Enjoy your holidays!

Christmas is an interesting hybrid of Christian and traditional Winter Solstice celebrations, so pretty much everyone can find a reason to enjoy it. I have gone back to wishing everyone a "Merry Christmas" again, and explaining the background to anyone who gets offended.

It's hard not to be happy that the days are getting longer and winter isn't going to last forever, at least if you live somewhere cold and snowy

    So... Merry Christmas everyone !!

Since, as John pointed out, Christmas is as much the traditional Winter Solstice celebration (What does Christmas Trees have to do with Christ, for example...) as it is a Christian one, I have always wondered why people didn't celebrate the occasion.

If you're touchy about the name...perhaps you should be partaking in some Solstice cheer and worrying less about the name and more about the celebration of the passing of the longest night of the year and the progression on to the next, and hopefully better year.

    Now dont drink too much....
Indeed. As Ian Anderson said in 'A Christmas Song'..."Christmas Spirit is not what you drink..."

Drink somewhat if you do. If you don't, it matters little.

    Whatever you do, celebrate.

Merry Christmas to one and all this fine day!
