It's understandable if they don't really have anyone there familiar with Linux. If they are indeed planning to compete in the arm market, they probably are learning it as they go along out of necessity.

Since everyone thought they were defunct, it's reasonable to assume they don't have the payroll to employ a Linux specialist. Let's hope they start working closely with the community instead. I don't own any of their stuff, but any potential open video solutions for arm netbooks is a plus.

The arm sdk they are using is probably windows only

Marvell uses the XGI V11 for their Kirkwood platform. Which explains the ARM code. Its on a number of commercial products just as the OpenRD board and the HP T5325 thin client. All of which use Linux which explains the renewed Linux support.
