Monitor doesn't power off with KMS
Hello!
My hardware is Radeon 4830, DVI-HDMI cable, HannsG HG281DJ monitor.
Ubuntu 9.10, 2.6.33 kernel, xorg-edgers.
When I type in consol "xset dpms force off" or suspend/shutdown the machine in a screen stay the "no signal input check video cable" message.
Without KMS the message disappear within 3 sec and Xorg.0.log expand with this:"
Output DIG0 transmitter setup success
Blank CRTC 0 success
Disable CRTC memreq 0 success
Disable CRTC 0 success
Blank CRTC 1 success
Disable CRTC memreq 1 success
Disable CRTC 1 success
Output DIG0 transmitter setup success
Blank CRTC 0 success
Disable CRTC memreq 0 success
Disable CRTC 0 success
Enable CRTC 0 success
Enable CRTC memreq 0 success
Unblank CRTC 0 success
Output DIG0 transmitter setup success"
With KMS the Xorg.0.log dosen't change.
With the 2.6.33RC6,7,8 the same result
KMS xorg.log
KMS dmesg
non KMS xorg.log
Sorry my terrible english!

With Ubuntu daily live i have same problem.
With KMS the code, modesetting is handled in the kernel rather than in the ddx (xf86-video-ati) so it does not use the UMS code paths in the ddx that print that information.
Hi!
I trial with Ubuntu 10.04 Beta live, HDMI-HDMI cable, after dpms off, suspend or shutdown computer, the monitor stay this stage, only with kernel mode setting.
My individual problem?
Looks like a monitor problem; it's failing to detect a card attached when the signal is off.
Do things work any better with 2.6.34rc kernels or drm-radeon-testing?
