Question Can GMA4500MHD do OpenGL 3.x?

    To everyone except Q!!

OK not the 4.0 but can it theoretically do OpenGL 3.x? And what's the roadmap to OGL 3.x in mesa? Thanks to everyone.

    except Q!!

Here's the to-do list for the mesa core (presumably including software renderer) not including HW drivers :

    http://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/tree/docs/GL3.txt

Doesn't answer the Intel-specific parts of your question but it's probably safe to assume that HW drivers will follow not-too-far-behind the Mesa core work.

There is also an xorg wiki page written by one of the Intel guys which summarizes the driver work required, but it didn't turn up in a quick search. I know it's there though

    I think it's this one?

I guess the biggest hurdle is implementing GLSL 1.30/1.40/1.50.

Hmm thanks people, very informative! So the G45 architecture is the same as i965? Maybe wrong but I think its a very old model.

Keep in mind that the driver is also called "i965", even for G4x hardware.
