Good things come to those who wait
In the well known presentation series "Why desktop Linux sucks" and more recently "Why desktop Linux still sucks", the presenter talked about small steps to make gaming on Linux a reality, so in the far future we migth get an AAA-title. What is happening now is that those steps are being skipped for major business right away.
All this fuss about a native linux steam client is pretty much uninteresting. Once we have something about a OpenGL backend for the Source engine... well, then it gets interesting. However I presume we're still years away from that.
The plan is to officially launch Steam & Source Engine & Games for Mac in the next week, not 1-2 months.
My guess is that they've already had it for months and once it was working properly they made the OSX announcement.
On a side note; Postal 3 is also in the works. It should be full of lol's
Quote from wiki:
"A new concept of weapon is a test lab monkey which will react to a laser pointed by the Postal Dude."
"... there will be "special vehicles" in the game such as Segways."
