Default The Google Earth Plugin is a web browser plugin, but not for Linux

The Google Earth Plugin (http://earth.google.com/plugin/) is a web browser plugin that lets you navigate and explore geographic data on a 3D globe across a variety of web sites, including Google Maps. It is available for Windows and Mac OS X, but not for Linux.

    Why not for Linux, Google?!

What does Max OS Sux have that Linux doesn't?

Thanks. I had never heard of WebGL before, but at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebGL on can read

The WebGL working group includes Apple, Google, Mozilla, and Opera.

Hmmm, will Apple let the others push Linux versions?

Yes - Google were working on a rival 3D browser standard but have now given up on it and are working with Mozilla (and others) - google would not be abandoning their version if the Mozilla version was got going to work on it's own (linux) products - chrome/android

I also doubt Mozilla would be working on a project that could not be ported.

Yes apple are terribly fascist generally but don't forgot they do help fund and support the Xserver (which they use themselves) - this benefits Linux also - What has MS done....
