At last, GCC implements -OMG-FAST
Out of curiosity, I checked out the current list of changes in GCC 4.6 to see whether the Intel optimizations were in when I noticed the new optimization level. The name made me chuckle and for half a second I wondered if we were the first of April.
At any rate, the name of that new optimization level is absolutely brilliant. I don't use -O3 so I won't use it, yet just the name makes me really want to compile stuff with it. I want it. Even now I'm trying to come up with reasons to use it or situations where it would help. That's how awesome the name is.
