benchmark my disks in linux

I just ordered a pcmcia sata card for my laptop and an external esata case and drive. I'd like to benchmark the performance of both the onboard and offboard storage, what disk benchmarking tools are there for linux?

hdparm -tT $DISK_DEVICE (where $DISK_DEVICE is equal to the devices you wish to test)
