I'm thinking of installing a newer kernel to try out r600 too, with my radeon 5850. Before i do that i'd like to know if Compiz works moer or less fully with the newest version in xorg-edgers (I got Ubuntu 10.10)?
Set R600_ENABLE_S3TC=1 and the S3TC extensions appear, but my 2.6.36.2 kernel is rejecting it:
Code:radeon 0000:02:00.0: r600_check_texture_resource:1111 texture invalid format 50 [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Invalid command stream ! radeon 0000:02:00.0: r600_check_texture_resource:1111 texture invalid format 50 [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Invalid command stream !
Good to know, thanks!
But all Doom3-based games have been borked for me ever since Colour Tiling was introduced.
It's fantastic to see this coming along. I'm really excited to play some of my commercial games with wine and r600g!
Great work, devs.
Wine[EVE-Online] : Playable but all texture are missing (S3TC) (The overview and all windows+modules are working);
Gish and Aquaria work good too.
Is there anyone can tell me what the HoN experience is like with the current r600g?
