10 fps was with stock ubuntu 11.04 ?
Heroes of neverth is now limited by the cpu to 30 fps with all details and extras enabled.
before it were at 10fps with that on an hd4850.
the new drm-next kernel and mesa git gave me at least 30% more performance in games and several chromium gpu accelerated tests.
just check out drm-next on ubuntu mainline ppa
and compile mesa from git or wait for xorg-edgers ppa to update.
10 fps was with stock ubuntu 11.04 ?
Well, Ubuntu 11.04 comes with Mesa 7.10 and there has been tons of commits since then. Those devs are crazy.
are there any graphical errors, or does it work flawlessly?
lol no
im using linux mint 10 with kernel git and im switching beetween selfcompiled mesa and xorg-edgers ppa since months.
the changes are in the most update git and kernel
btw swapbufferswait was off and everything renders correctly
Just so you know HoN's OpenGL renderer is pretty crappy in terms of performance.
Try running HoN on Windows with the OpenGL renderer and it runs like crap. I play on Windows with an x1900 and all settings maxed with no problems. When it's switched to the OpenGL renderer it turns into a slide show.
