    how to use a Hama Webcam "CM-3010 AF" on linux?

    sound and video dosn'T work and only the blue LED light up if a program try to use the webcam..

    any help ?

    Maybe it has a sensor to detect if you are in front and then shuts down

    The driver is uvcvideo. If you used skype for testing try:

    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype

    on a 64 bit system or

    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype

    on a 32 bit one. of course lib32v4l-0 / libv4l-0 needs to be installed. xawtv should work without that hack.
