The Linux Foundation has made a number of announcements today from the first day of the 2011 Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit taking place this week in San Francisco...
LF is imo mostly a bureaucratic organization. They don't bother helping fix critical issues, instead they mostly issue documents and "contests", PR stuff, i.e. I emailed them like a month ago proposing them to help out with the patents in OpenGL cause the companies behind LF have both money and power to solve this kind of critical problems - yet no response nothing - on the other hand Jim Zemlin is more than happy to proclaim once again for the 100th time in yet another interview how Linux defeated Windows.
