Code:sudo -i update-alternatives --config gl_conf ldconfig update-initramfs -utk all rm -f /etc/X11/xorg.conf* reboot
Hello everyone, yesterday I installed a new ATI video card but I did not remove the proprietary nvidia drivers before I did so, and now I can not get X. Looking at the errors I get it appears that it is because the nvidia driver is trying to load. Does anyone know how to remove the nvidia driver installed through jockey on Ubuntu from the command line?
Thanks.
Code:sudo -i update-alternatives --config gl_conf ldconfig update-initramfs -utk all rm -f /etc/X11/xorg.conf* reboot
Thanks I was able to get it working again with your help.
I searched in the FAQ so Im quite sure about it: con you confirm that I do not need to deactivate and reactivate BS if I change the video card ATi 4850-512Mb for a Gtx460-1Gb?
thanks
