its a real location you know? means the /etc/X11/ is the wrong place because this isn't a real location.

means /dev/xorg.conf is the real solution

This would allow for multiple conferences. You would just need to give a higher number for the one in your mom's basement and your decisions would usurp those of people more qualified.
