For the record, I am using a 2.6.38.5 kernel; KMS and PageFlipping are on, and SwapbuffersWait is "off".
on my test with the catalyst it tears without it and with that acceleration it is tearfree,,, without activation of the "tearfree" desktop option in the ccc...

???,,, maybe adobe and ati/amd do have some dirty tricks in the driver or in the flash app,,??
