It would be rather nice if we could get most of the X server display done on the GPU side. Then the Xserver transfer latency would be masked by the GPU upload latency, and everyone would be happy.
Edit: Also, has anyone talked about scan-converting traps/tris on the GPU for Xrender? It seems like this would be a significant win.
