Too bad, the major part of systems using this chip also uses an Optimus setup, which makes the official driver almost unusable.

Someone on NVNews did find a workaround for making Nvidia acceleration with Optimus work. I don't have a link, though.

On my Intel Core i7 920 PC with nVidia GTX260 graphic hardware, I obtain the impression that with this updated driver the boot time is a bit slower. I've seen this on both 64-bit openSUSE-11.3 KDE-4.4.4 and 64-bit openSUSE-11.4 KDE-4.6.0 partitions on same PC. After one waits sufficient time for the boot, the functionality appears ok.

I've read of a possible work around, which while it may not make Optimus work, does allow better use with the nVidia hardware, called 'bumblebee'. Is that what you are referring to ? http://linux-hybrid-graphics.blogspo...bumblebee.html

I don't have Optimus hardware myself ... I've read of it and noted some users are not particularly happy about the support

I see there is now a 275.21 driver available: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-d...21-driver.html following very closely after the 275.19.
