Phoronix: What's Coming Up For GCC 4.7
GCC 4.6 was released back in March with various Intel hardware optimizations, initial AVX (Advanced Vector Extensions http://www.phoronix.com/vr.php?view=15665) support, Google Go programming support, new optimization paths, and a number of other new features. I'm guessing this is a prelude to a code drop which Michael will no doubt know about, perhaps under embargo.
Seeing as GCC doesn't fully implement C99 yet... it'll be what, 15 years before full C++11. C1X will be another 15.
