    Logitech G5 here. Everything works just fine, DPI changing button, side buttons, even wheel tilt ;-)

    I have huge hands, that's why I'll always count on my Microsoft Explorer 3.0. The thumb-buttons work flawlessly, with the following configuration:
    Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
    Option "Buttons" "7"
    Option "ButtonMapping" "1 2 3 4 5"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
    All I had to do was to create and .Xmodmap-file in my /home-directory with the following content:
    pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5

    Thats not needed, this works too:

    Code:
            Option          "Device"                "/dev/input/mice"
            Option          "Protocol"              "ExplorerPS/2"
            Option          "ZAxisMapping"          "4 5"
            Option          "Buttons"               "7"
    Then you dont need xmodmap.

    Logitech MX 518. If I would buy a new mouse today it would be the Logitech G5 Rev. 2.

    I bought a Logitech MX1000 before fully switching to linux... unfortunatly I have a bad serie sensor, so it is unusable under linux...
    There is a "driver" patch for windows, but nothing for linux...

    Now I will sell this mouse, which is a shame because I had a great feeling with it. I still have to find an other great wireless mouse with battery and charger (like Mx1000), any idea?
