Hi,
I have a Powercolor HD5850 and right now when i launch AMDOverdriveCtrl i can overclock past the 775MHz mark.
I've heard that it is possible to get past the 775Mhz if i flash the BIOS and change the BIOS limits.
But i really don't want to do this right now since it will void warranty.
I know on windows it can be done using MSI Afterburner.
Can it be done on Linux by the use of any tool to overclock or opensource drivers?
Thank you.
So how would one go about editing the BIOS limits of a card? And how safe is it, I mean the BIOS editing/flashing itself. I know overclocking/-volting can damage the chip. I just got a 5770 and I'll be curious to try it out as soon as I get a larger heatsink and a new fan on it.
