I use Ubuntu. If you plug in different IO devices, it creates new input devices in the /dev/input/Event(some number). Now it associates that some number forever to some input device, it remembers the same event number when you hotplug. So my question is "Is there a way to reset the numbering or delete a event so that it can be reused in the future". Thanks. I am trying to trouble shoot a problem the only apparent difference in my working setup and nonworking is the order I plugged in devices. Thanks
