    Default Pinnacle and Linux?

    Hi everyone,

i search a lot but didn't find an answer... Does pinnacle card works with linux? Is there any compatible software (closed/Open) which works with the pinnacle card?

I'm interrested about this pinnacle product:
    Code:
Pinnacle PCTV Dual Hybrid Pro 3010iX (PCIe 1X) - French/Itallian

    230100075 - PCIe 1x Card - Hybrid TV Tuner (Analogue & DVB-T) - Record in MPEG-2 and DivX - Remote control

    Enjoy
    # Bring digital terrestrial TV and radio* as well as analogue TV and FM radio to a desktop PC
    # Enjoy two programmes at the same time
    # Watch in full-screen with Picture-in-Picture or in scaleable windows
    # Infrared remote control included
    # Ultra-fast Teletext
    # Plus: Listen to and record Stereo FM and digital radio*
    # Plus: Listen to Internet radio stations**
    # Uses PCI Express x1 slot, leaving other slots available
    # Compatible with Windows Media Center (Windows Vista Home Premium / Ultimate and Windows XP MCE; remote separately available)

    Control & Record
    # Control two live TV shows with DualTimeShifting™
    # Record video files compatible with Sony PSP™ or Apple iPod™ (MPEG-4)
    # Schedule recordings to your hard drive or Direct-to- DVD
    # AutoPower ON/OFF for scheduled recordings
    # Record in MPEG-2 and DivX® formats
    # Ease of use with Infrared remote control
    # Free integrated Electronic Programme Guide
    # Trim your videos and create DVDs with Pinnacle Studio QuickStart (Windows XP only)
    * - DVB-T radio not available in all regions
    ** - Internet connection required
if there no linux support for pinnacle, is there any other similar card which works on linux?$

    thanks for your help!

Support is not a matter of card brand but used chips (as with everything else in linux )

I think this card is based on the SAA7162 (since it's a PCI-E device); someone is already working on a driver but there's nothing usable available yet.

IIRC the Hauppauge HVR3000 is supported and
has a similar featureset (minus the analog tv capability).
Better ask on the linuxtv mailinglist to be sure ( mailto:linux-dvb@linuxtv.org )

    HTH!
