Dual-Head on x1400: max resolution?

Hi,

I bought a 22" display with 1680x1050 pixels yesterday to attach it to my ThinkPad with 1400x1050 pixels (via VGA, until my Advanced Mini Dock with DVI arrives). I tried BigDesktop, but I could not get the external Display to its native resolution, only to 1400x1050 (same res. as the internal display) which were skewed to the whole display size. After that, I tried dual head, but again, I could not get a resolution higher than 1400x1050.

I'm beginning to ask myself if this card is even capable of driving a 1400x1050 and a 1680x1050 display. I searched for specs before buying the thing, but could not find anything.

Any hints?

/edit: I'm a step further. I managed to get BigDesktop working, but only with both displays at 1650x1050, which means that the laptop display has a nonvisible area on the left. This is only a minor annoyance because I tend to loose my mouse cursor there
