    Default AMD A6-3500 mode setting issue on VGA output

    I have a modesetting issue on an AMD A6-3500 system running Fedora Rawhide. The system is going up to a point when it should switch screen mode and then the monitor will just suspend (my monitor is connected to the VGA output).

    The dmesg logs:
    Code:

    Hi,
    I just had the same problem yesterday on Debian GNU/Linux Squeeze.
    I boot system with kernel parameter:

    Code:
    radeon.modeset=0
    I simply upgrade to Debian Wheezy and its kernel works ok.

    Code:
    compaq:~# uname -a
    Linux compaq 3.1.0-1-686-pae #1 SMP Mon Nov 14 08:24:20 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux

    Thanks. It seems I have to wait for the OSS drivers to improve and just put an older AMD GPU into that box.
