OpenBSD had been using xf86-video-ati 6.12.2, but this has now been upgraded to xf86-video-ati 6.14.3. Unfortunately it didn't make it into the upcoming OpenBSD 5.1, but it is available in snapshots for testing and will hopefully be enabled by default for OpenBSD 5.2.

This update adds UMS (user modesetting) support for Evergreen and Northern Islands cards (excluding Cayman) and comes with a host of other improvements that are far numerous to enumerate here (see Michael's various articles on the driver updates).

KMS (kernel modesetting) support is still a work in progress, with no calls for testing or public releases. TTM isn't on the horizon, which is a shame but there is a significant lack of manpower across all the BSDs in this area.
