on my laptop (mobility x1600) max res. is now 1280x1024 instead of 1680x1050
crap...
Does this page contains the good procedure ? Considering just adapting version numbers... ?

ack, looks like a great improvement.
my xorg.conf section
Section "Screen"
Identifier "aticonfig-Screen[0]"
Device "aticonfig-Device[0]"
Monitor "aticonfig-Monitor[0]"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1680x1050"
EndSubSection
EndSection
monitor is just
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "aticonfig-Monitor[0]"
ModelName "Custom 1"
Gamma 1
EndSection
For me:
- No change in single or dual head mode
- Mode lines in Xorg.conf are ignored (as per release notes)
- Any xrandr foo doesn't work
- Nothing in amdcccle allows fixing the resolution
I'm on a mobility x1600 also, and can't even get a downgrade to work right now.
<frustrated>
New laptop for the new year, and at this rate it is certainly not going to contain an AMD/ATI card
</frustrated>
Scrolling is still unbearably slow, and causes 100% CPU usage - in both Firefox and gnome-terminal.My card is a Mobility Radeon 9700.
same here....Mobility Radeon X1600.... 1680x1050 doesn't work........![]()
yeah!
I'm very happy, this will be a Great Christmas!
The driver is wonderful! Everything works!
...........
...........
...........
- AIGLX and compiz still slow, firefox unusable.
- Now vlc crashes if I select opengl output
- With other outputs and AIGLX set to on, it's the world of flickers
- I don't want to test zsnes and xmame with opengl... I already know it's useless.
Please Santa Claus, bring me an nvidia and I will give you a radeon 9600.
