The guys doing the driver -- our saviours!
It's coming to Debian/sid in three hours.
yep, without hw to test the driver on or without proper documentation....This support in the driver is initial as the Novell developers responsible for a majority of the work on the xf86-video-radeonhd still have yet to receive the RV670 specifications or even the hardware.
if that's the stuff they get us by these means, think of what they could have done with full support...![]()
Awesome work guys, It is amazing that OSS is supporting my 3870 before ATI. Still, good on ATI for releasing the specs and allowing this to happen but so far it looks like radeonhd will be the way to go.
Cheers
Hmm, it worked OK for me last night, once I got it set up. (Output names have changed since I tried it last) It would not come up right with my DVI monitor attached to port 2 instead of port 1. (It recognizes the port furthest from the PCIe connector as port 1 for some odd reason.)
This morning, the first time I logged in, the screen would blink on and off. DPMS problem? I logged out and back in, and everything seems to be OK this time.
