It makes me cringe when I see still so few embedded GPU vendors giving real support. Especially since on embedded devices Linux is #1. And then little enterprises or freelancers have to jump in and do something about it.
I guess it is a mix of lazyness, fear of their (or others') I.P./violated patents seeping out, planned obsolescence that won't work so well with a free driver and maybe lack of knowledge how to do Linux things?
