Hi,

I think this is a new problem (reported already but not looked closely at):

System is F8 32bit + latest livna Cat 7.12, Radeon X850 AGP; the same was with Centos 5.1 btw.

I cannot start GDM otherwise the X system freezes completely, nothing written to the gdm log and xorg log.

Manually starting via startx from runlevel 3 works fine.

Note: I saw some posts regarding this problem with F8, maybe this is Redhat/Centos/Fedora specific.
