When new news items appear on the front page, they seem to appear in random order, not according to date posted.
For example yesterday morning it was
And then later that day the "Better Input Support In The Linux 3.5 Kernel" item appeared after the libc++ item. One would expect new items to appear either at the top or the bottom, consistently2013: A Good Year For Open-Source AMD?

Yeah there's occasionally weird ordering of news items on days I publish lots of news items, it's intentional.
