Well, I hope they don't start development after the product has hit the market.
Then we'll have to wait for months until we can get the hardware running.
The code should be written ahead, so it is supported on launch day.

Define "shipping product" as a mass-buildable SoC, not a consumer device. It's often 6mo or more from that to consumer products.

What is the status of ARMv8 (64-bit) ?

Has the spec even been finalized yet?

I believe they decided to implement 40-bit LPAE in Cortex-A15 to kind of provide a "stop-gap" to ARMv8.
