This means you finally bought a linux pc to use it? i don't think so because your Modem is a Windows only modem and your 3G mobile INTERNET is to expensive in very-time use also your linux usage on that pc will ruin your electric power bill because linux use much more power thankfully to the AMD opensource drivers and i think your new pc is to slow in watching blueray movies because the UVD unit dit not work with the opensource drivers also the opensource driver cause a fatal CPU overheat compared to the closed source driver because of this notebook systems overheat on the CPU and burn the battery life away.
Also you can not play Heroes of new-earth without losing MMR rating all the time because the native linux clind can not switch the resolution to a lower number because of this your card can not handle the game with a playable frame rate and switching to the windows clind does not help because then you cant use mumble to voice chat with your clan without the usage of "push to talk" with the ingame voice also you can not listing music in the same time on your pc then because wine does not support pulseaudio.

Burning money on energy bill,burning your MMR points in HON,burning your ability of watching high resolution videos,burning your CPU cycles on driver Overheat,high internet bill did I forget something?

No, I've had that system for a while. CPU is an original Phenom so you should be able to figure out when I bought it. Waiting for Trinity and FM2 mobos to show up in the local ships, then it gets replaced with Trinity/SI.

Haven't had power/heat problems although I realize that is a bit system-dependent.

I don't know why you're obsessing with the per-MB cost of the cellular modem -- there's a per-month charge even if I don't use it, and the data charges only kick in after a few GB (which was more than I had the patience for with the dial-up line anyways).

Are you suggesting that the carrier has different cost structures depending on the OS I use ? That may be the case in Germany (although I'm not sure how they would reliably identify OS) but it's not the case in Canada.

That was when I was at a cottage up north. Cell modem / router on a 50' extension cord, hauled up a tree to get reception. Not needed at home.

Just a sidenote: I use 1 Debian machine, one Salix machine and 3 Slackware machines. One of the Slackware machines, my main rig also used for gaming, runs dual-boot with Vista, on a Phenom II X6 with Radeon HD6870. Before I put the HD6870 in that machine I used a Geforce GTX260 and I really regret not to have bought Nvidia again. Just because AMD support for Linux at this point sucks.
Am I now a bad person just because of that?

i bought a am3 main-board for bulldozer and then the bulldozer only run on am3+ main-boards.
i can scan you my bill of the mainboard just to prove you that i can not run a bulldozer amd cpu.

same with FM2 wen the next SI. based chips will come out all FM2 mainboards will fall into pieces and you need to buy a FM3 mainboard

no i suggesting that if i use linux in germany with my high speed 16mbps DSL i do not have a limit for the data rate and i can Linux so hard i can use it and i use it hard all the time and my line burn hot full speed all the time because me and linux we fuck all the time together!
