Faster bus + non-optimized data transfers = more speed on open drivers.

Good to know it will be on by default for most configurations. My only question is whether or not this will apply to Fedora 18 or not?

Depends on what kernel version Fedora will be using. This code will be merged in Linux 3.6 (if it turns out to work well).
