The idea is detecting when two memory pages are the same, and only store one of them in memory.
Very useful when dealing with multiple virtual machine instances with similar workloads, where you can share the same kernel, basic userland, etc, memory pages between all of them.
Looks like a typo in the forum post. The article talks about "deduplication".

Has anyone found a patch for 3.5rc kernels? Merely applying the 3.4 one as-is (with only some variables renamed) just gets you kernel panics at boot.
Looks like a cool idea, but towards the end of the video, the CPU usage numbers looked like they could be worth monitoring... in a bad way.
