And yeah, I was thinking the same - development with no internet is usually unpleasant. I'm sure having the authors of the engine at hand helps, but still. Otherwise it sounds rather fun.

If I bring a 4000 km long fiber cable we can all surf on my home connection with only a 20ms penalty. Perhaps it's intentional to not provide visitors with a connection. Makes people actually look up from their screen during the talks.

Good initiative though. Would be nice to visit Tomsk as well.
