Well, well, well....i start to see a trend here....wonder if Blizzard (and ACTIVISION....and that means "CALL OF DUTY") will join Valve in the Linux endeavor ....maybe is to soon yet but things are looking good....to the Linux side

I think the next step of Valve would be to buy Ubuntu and to put Steam on it, or maybe to create a new distro optimised for games, Steam Linux sounds great!!! If M$ kicks Valve, why not Valve paybacks M$? Valve believing in Valve is not such a bad idea, isn't it?

I don't think we need yet-another-distro, we already have hundreds/thousands of great distros, Fedora, Ubuntu, Gentoo, Debian, Arch Linux, $(insert-your-favorite-distro-here), are great distros. We have many great distros already. What we need is better and optimized, high-performant, high-quality drivers, we need to get rid of the patent issues with Mesa (S3TC), etc.

Also, I don't think people would like to switch from their favorite distros just for Steam or games (not that they aren't a good thing, they are! And I'm sure they'll help Linux tremendously). But what we truly need is improved, high-performance, high-quality open-source drivers. We need to get rid of the patent problems we have with Mesa (S3TC). We need Wayland, etc.

So it would be nice if Valve concentrates in helping with these things instead, so that everyone in the FOSS/Linux world could benefit, which in the end is a great thing for Valve, gamers and everyone.

The percentage isn't relevant...i was only exemplifying that it's possible to get IE w/o MS get a dime *directly*.
As for the ads, in this scenario given by me, is the same situation than for Firefox....both IE and Firefox get revenue from ads.

The percentage do have relevance because you are right in 0.00001% of the cases and I'm right in 99,x% of the cases....
Your argumentation is pure hypothetical and be sure Microsoft calculate with the 99% of the cases.
In 99% of the cases IE gets money from the windows sales and the ads are just an extra profit.

Firefox don't get any money from windows sales only from ads.

Dunno....Valve might bite the bullet and go right now for ARM....best option for them in the long run.

Just answer this question: why ARM??? MIPS64 is better right now.
But sure in 2014 ARM is on the same level.

Thanks to second link !!! I never imagined that it could be THAt bad for XBox360 devs !!!
