This maybe a noob question here, but I will give it a try anyway.
Can you tell me what's the difference between current Wine gaming playing and Valve's STEAM ?
I know that Valve is using a dynamic D3D Translator to translate on the fly Direct3D calls into OpenGL. But I don't know what WineHQ does. Can you enlighten me?

Wine has nothing to do with Steam. Steam is a content distribution framework. Wine is a Unix implementation of various Microsoft APIs. Comparing Wine to Steam is like comparing it to iTunes.
