Will this merely make a Linux system into merely a smart terminal for say a mainframe or even a Unix/Linux host or is simply a userspace console replacement?
It should get the GNOME background from gsettings:
$ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri
'file:///home/alice/Firefox_wallpaper.png'
Then it can have the same background on the terminal as on the GNOME desktop.
Though, the background could get darken for the text to be more readable.
Is the dependency on GTK or GNOME or what it was for Unicode gone?
How much of VT-xxx does it support yet?
Does it support the usage of a background wallpaper image? In PNG format?
David also wrote the kernel hid wiimote driver, the bluez wiimote plugin, a userspace library for handling the wiimote evdev events, and xf86-input wiimote driver. Thanks David!
sounds like an exact thing i wanted since i heard about KMS ^_^
design looks decent also, unlike Lennart's stuff.
hope we'll see mplayer and others properly utilising KMS console instead of fbdev in near future
What The Fuck ? it's a system's terminal in userspace, why it would be even trying to integrate with any DE ?!
Any input on how to use this? How do I replace the default kernel's console?
