    Message from Digia.

Fuck Linux, we are going QNX and Mac.

Fuck LGPL and freedom, we want a much broader and nonfree license.

Fuck the Desktop, we care about other devices.

Sigh. Yet another sad story about Qt. And now lets hear the roar from the dozens of unemployed Qt-certificate holders who wont admit this. This is your chance boys. Tell us all about it (again). Or better yet, get a real job doing really free software without ties to CLAing and scary corporates.

1: How does it harm open source projects to allow someone to license the code for use in closed stuff? In reality this funds further development and expands the user base, which are both good things.

2: How do you figure that they don't care about linux? The changelog for Linux was about the same length as the OSX one. QNX was a bit longer, but if you read through the changes you will see that it is because QNX was in pretty bad shape compared to the desktop OS versions.

3: How do you figure that they don't care about desktop stuff? I'm not seeing that at all.

Ignoring the fact that there is absolutely no support for any of these conclusions in the article, you are being self-contradictory. If they don't care about the Desktop, why did they improve Mac Os X support? I wish we could at least get smart trolls.

While I'm fully aware that the first one is a troll, just a quick info as for why QNX became a supported platform:

RIM are using Qt in BlackBerry OS 10 which is QNX-based. RIM contracted KDAB and Digia to work on the QNX port. KDAB also wrote a new GUI library on top of Qt, called Cascades, which is not part of any Qt release (similar to what KDE did with libplasma): http://www.kdab.com/new-training-cas...ment-for-bb10/
