Gabe and Valve scold Windows 8 and say they bring out Steam for Linux (*cough* Ubuntu *cough) but yet very corporation he scolds can make multi distro packages for Skype.
There has been MS code in linux for quite a while now. In fact they are one of the larger contributor over the last few kernels.

Except that the ONLY users who actually have Microsoft code running in their kernels are those who are running Microsoft's virtual machine system.
This is like saying that Wal-Mart is one of the biggest builders of roads on the planet because they pave the entrances to their parking lots.
Oh hey, now they write "multiarch" instead of "64-bit" in their download page. That's a welcome change to clear up misunderstandings. Though I still have no idea why they won't release a 64-bit version...
