USB boot on Asus MB

I tried to boot on new Asus MB, which supports BIOS, UEFI and secure UEFI boot

openSUSE-12.2-KDE-LiveCD-x86_64.iso
ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-amd64+mac.iso (should support UEFI)

from USB1 flash drive installed with

dd if=openSUSE-12.2-KDE-LiveCD-x86_64.iso of=/dev/sdc

I can BIOS boot Linux from SATA hard drive, but flash drive isn't listed as bootable drive in BIOS or when I press F8 after system start.
Flash drive is listed only on first screen after system start.
I was able to boot openSUSE-12.2-KDE-LiveCD-x86_64.iso from same flash drive on old MB.

boot from Opensuse 11.4 CD in USB DVD drive was successful.

IIRC the live versions of the openSUSE media is not UEFI aware and still uses grub legacy (the DVD boots with elilo). That would be why it is not listed in your UEFI menu. Enable Legacy BIOS on your Asus MB and you should be fine.

There is no UEFI menu, but common menu for UEFI and non-UEFI boot. BIOS probably doesn't like my USB flash drive if it can boot from USB DVD drive.
I wonder if someone can boot Linux iso from USB flash drive on Asus MB bought in 2012.

I can with no problem on a P8H77-M Pro with openSUSE 12.2 and 12.3 (have not tried older versions).
