Sucks that Xwayland hasn't landed.![]()
im a confident that most big distros will use xwayland by this time next year. this would make conversion a non-issue as most apps would gradually switch over to wayland, while others still run in x.
My wish is for glamor to be finally fixed so there's at least the chance to test PRIME on a southern islands card.

I have tried to find a commit version where prime is already submitted and glamor still works but it seems there is none. With the commit that introduced prime x.org doesn't compile and by the time some patches make it work again glamor doesn't work anymore.
Come on, AMD. You decided to go with glamor only, you should try to make it work without lagging 3+ months behind...
The article is dead wrong about hybrid graphics suppport.

Looks like SI + Glamor is working now if you're willing to build mesa/drm/etc yourself.
Edit: And looking at the handle of who I'm replying to, I have full confidence that you'll manage![]()
It doesn't seem to be in master yet. And the glamor mailing list seemed to imply that the changes need to happen in the xserver, not the ddx. So if the change is in xf86-video-ati I guess it still won't work with xf86-video-intel. Not that I want to use it over sna, I just find it strange that while intel created it they don't seem to put the work into it to even keep it working (at least timely).
And he doesn't really say that it works on X.org >=1.13, does he? Glamor on radeon had some problems, mainly with colors on window decoration and some gtk features, maybe he just means that the rendering is now fully correct.
