    In Spring, after ES 3.0 gets released, it makes sense for the devs to continue (restart) working on the new OpenGL ABI to test how the ABI works with the core GL 3.3 and ES 3.0 on one side, and legacy OpenGL (GL 2.1) on the other side.

    OpenGL ES 3.0 is going to be great for indie developers. They will be able to develop games that look good enough on a multitude of platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, Linux - and even PS4, Steam Box(es) and the Web (WebGL).

    Develop one OpenGL ES 3.0 game, run it everywhere. With game engines like Unity 4.0 that support all of these platforms, it should be pretty easy to do that. The future is exciting.
