While they may build there isn't any garrantee they work.. for example NetBSD sparc has lots more packages than OpenBSD sparc but the former has lots of packages that don't work at all while the latter acutally gets some testing and most everything works well. That said they are about equal in my eyes, they just have different approaches, but it is worth noteing.
