This driver broke Steam and Age of Empires II (wine), so I rolled back to 304 for now...
I use linux-pf (I bit modded: added proper named for optimized kernels latern than Intel Core2, imported option from linux-ck to disable NUMA by default), I main the nvidia-pf package and I wait until nvidia-utils and lib32-nvidia-utils gets updated, my nvidia-pf-bumblebee and lib32-nvidia-bumblebee packages will updated tomorrow.

Tell that to VALVE. Anyways, this is not a thread discussing Linux gaming in general?
How do you think you come off with statements like this?I'm so amazed by your use of “ur” instead of “your”. You're soooooooooo cool and it really makes your arguments more serious and believable.
Are you just plain ignorant or are you trolling? Pick one, because I am playing back 1080p blu-ray material in perfect 24p every day with XBMC/nvidia(blob).If that were true, nobody would use NVidia on Linux because to this day NVidia drivers can't play back videos without tearing!
Are you blaming nvidia for a shitty media player they did not write? Just switch to a decent media player that uses VDPAU natively, what's the problem?I also de facto have no video decoding acceleration because VLC only supports VAAPI (not VDPAU) and the VAAPI to VDPAU wrapper simply doesn't work!
Fixed that for you.I also don't know how to adjust the screen brightness with my NVidia GPU
Strange, I've been using the Linux nvidia driver since it was first released (what is that, 10 years ago now?). I can't recall having any problems at all. On the contrary, it's always supported the latest capabilities of Linux and performance have been great!NVidia is not the flawless Linux supporter as you people claim NVidia was. There are many problems under Linux and with a FOSS driver at least people can use their GPUs almost forever and not be subject to some exec who decides that old GPUs are no longer supported.
By all means, promote nouveau or whatever it is you are trying to do, but please refrain from making false statements and spreading FUD. Your claims are plain stupid.
Hello everybody. anyone know why my GPU is only 509MHz even at full load running games with this drivers?
the card: MSI GTX 660
Running Unigine valley
same thing with 310.32
any ideas?![]()
Unfortunately there's a long-standing bug where Kepler cards don't report accurate frequencies in Linux. However for your case you might want to check in on NVIDIA's Linux forums to verify.
Is performance sub-optimal?
something is weird, look:
unigine valley same settings in all tests:
driver 310.32
driver 313.18
driver 304.84
The best performance achieved with the 304.84, but performance in games like serious sam 3 not so good.
(15-20 fps high settings)
in short: not yet found an ideal driver for my system![]()
I haven't benchmarked the 310 og 313 drivers, but the 304 drivers performs close to the Windows 310 and 313 drivers, so the reporting by NV-Control has to be wrong. I really hope they'll fix this soon.
