    I haven't read the post yet, so, bear with me.
    That was one of the big differences from the Xlib backend. Making this multithreaded should make for an nice speedup, and allow us to raise our baseline expectations.

    Haha, my entire DE + editors and IDEs are white on black/gray =P I feel at home.
